Getting Started With The HLLTC 1) Announcements and Notifications
The HLLTC announcements channel is located under the COMMUNITY RULES & NEW category at the top our channels list. Discord server notifications can get crazy. Every time some one posts in any channel, you will receive a notification. If you have both the Discord phone and desktop apps, that's a lot of noise. You can reduce this noise and still stay up-to-date on what's going on in the HLLTC by muting select channels or turning off your mobile push notifications. Unmuted channels turn white when new posts have been added.
To mute select channels in a Discord server, right-clicking on a specific channel and selecting "Mute Channel". Several options will appear. Select that option that works best for you. Please do not mute the announcements channel. To turn off your Discord mobile push notifications, right-click on the HLLTC server icon in the left of your Discord screen. Click on "Notification Settings" and switch the "Mobile Push Notifications" switch to off. A variety of other options are available to further fine tune your experience. Experiment with these to find the option that suits you most. 2) Join us for Training
The HLLTC conducts periodic training sessions for Hell Let Loose and our expansions games. Anyone from any community may join us for training. The training schedule for these sessions is available under the HLLTC TRAINING INFO category in our Discord and is published. Other teams are invited to follow this channel in their own Discords. MEMBERS may also request training on any aspect of any expansion game or on aspects of our primary game Hell Let Loose in our training requests channel.
3) Jumping into Games Gaming is the best way to get to know everyone. One of our camp mottos is "Play together, stay together." But gaming will also help you climb the ranks. The more you game, the better people know you. The better people know you, the more likely they are to recommend you for promotion. To learn more about how to get promoted in the HLLTC, click here. Though Hell Let Loose is our primary game, HLLTC members play a growing variety of other games across four sections of channels our Discord. Hell Let Loose is played in the main VOICE CHANNELS. Games we are testing to see if they will catch on in camp are played under the category OTHER HLLTC GAMES. Games we are trying out for the first time are played in the CO-OP GAMES HUB. And then we have our expansion games. Expansion games have their own categories and channels. Please note that some games, like Escape from Tarkov, have special rules and requirements to play with camp members. Only Hell Let Loose and our expansion games have set rules and requirements. These rules and requirements are posted in "rules" channels at the top of each game's channel group.
For example, Hell Let Loose requires "comms etiquette" and is best played in voice channels marked PTT ("Push to Talk"). Comms etiquette means no talking while players are in-game. Regarding PTTs, you must first set a PTT button or switch to PTT before joining a PTT channel.
To set a PTT button in Discord, click the gear icon next to your name in the bottom left of your Discord screen. Then click "Voice & Video". Check the box under "INPUT MODE" and record a key in the "SHORTCUT" field that appears. Once recorded, you can switch between regular "Voice Activity" and "Push to Talk" any time you like or as voice channels require.
4) Climb our Ranks or Join a Top Team
New players and unaffiliated HLL veterans are strongly encouraged to join a team. All team-oriented games are best played with friends. This is especially the case with Hell Let Loose. Though the HLLTC has its own team, we encourage all members to review our top teams partners to learn about some of the other amazing gaming communities we call friends.
If you want to learn more about a specific top team, would like to buddy-up with a top-teams' member for a game or for training, or you are interested in a top-teams' camp tour, contact your local recruiter today. Recruiters from a variety of teams are listed in the HLLTC Discord in the roles panel on the right and are identified by the rank/role color green.
