GS "OPTIO" is an "[OPT]" tag-wearing GODSQUAD member. OPT is the first and most important of HLLTC leadership roles. In Roman tradition, those inducted into OPTIO were the equivalent of first sergeants.
As an OPTIO, you understand this camp's ethos and are dedicated to its aims. You exhibit a strong sense of community and may be asked by leadership to help develop camp policy/infrastructure. You are also the OFFICER's right hand. OPTIO are responsible for managing GODSQUAD and below and for maintaining order in camp via adherence to camp rules/policy in a tempered, contemplative manner.
RED harks back to the time of the Romans and the Greeks before them. Red is and has always been synonymous with the warrior's spirit and remains to this day a badge of honor, duty, and sacrifice.
Key characteristics of an OPTIO are as follows:
1) You are a true HLLTC professional
2) You know your game(s) and the camp inside and out
3) You ensure members follow camp rules/policy
4) You are up-to-date on camp resources
5) You look after GODSQUAD, DEMIGODS, MEMBERS
6) You organize, manage, and facilitate gaming sessions
7) You assist and/or take over for officers when needed
8) You suggest DG, GS, and GS OPTIO candidates for promotion
9) You never stoop to negativity
Privileges provided GODSQUAD OPTIO members:
1) All previous privileges
2) Access to optio private text channel
3) Access to OPTIO's private Conferences voice
4) May move (or "drag") members into Conferences
5) May recommend promotions for GS, DG, and OPT 6) May recommend GS and below for Commendations
Rank/Role Insignia
The GODSQUAD OPTIO insignia is inspired by the original feathered helmet crest of the ancient Roman equivalent of today's U.S. Army first sergeant. OPT members are HLLTC sergeants (or NCOs).
An important part of Roman military regalia, the crest (worn broadside or ear-to-ear on top of the helmet) helped not only distinguish these important leaders but made them easy to spot on the battlefield. The feathered plume was an object of great pride and has been reintroduced into the HLLTC's rank/roles system for the same purpose.
