Hey guys I posted this over in our website but wanted to hear your guy's thoughts and opinions on your favorite small arm firearms in HLL. The M1 Carbine is an absolute monster and is very good in all situations and ranges. If HLL had the M1A1 Carbine, "Paratrooper Model", with the side folding stock, that would be a contender for my favorite gun in this game. The MP40 is my favorite from a historical aspect because how iconic it is. Especially since U7, the MP40 is slightly more accurate with a tighter spread. Can't wait until they add the Eastern Front, as I have a strong feeling the PPSH will be added and become one of my favorite guns in HLL! Overall though, the Gewehr 43 is hands down my favorite. Such a jewel of a rifle that absolutely devastates enemy soldiers in Hell Let Loose. Decent hipfire up close, excellent accuracy at range, and a 10 round magazine paired with a good rate of fire. Not to mention that it's available with the Grenadier loadout for the Assault class where you get SIX FRAG GRENADES! I really hope the devs add in more factions to increase the weapon pool. A majority of these firearms have great historical appreciation, and it is always interesting seeing people's opinions of how they are implemented in video games.

I started playing Automatic Rifleman more and have really enjoyed the STG. I usually 3-4 round burst it, and I have no problem being accurate at longer ranges.
Guys, is there no love for the Gewer43? Love squad leading with this gun. The M1 Garand is a beauty too, love getting hip fire kills pushing houses with it, very accurate and good clip. The K98 has too short a clip for me...
I'm late to the party but, M1 Garand hands down. After they tweaked the irons on it say goodbye to the K98. You want to make the K98 relevant again go back to the old iron sights. HA
My gun tier list... 1a Carbine 1b Grand
2 Gewher
3a STG
3b BAR
4a Mp40
4b Thompson
4c Kar
Short answer: U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30 M1. I've had moments where I feel almost unstoppable with the ol' Garand.
Stg-44 is a close second for me. It just 'Feels Good'.
I also enjoy the Kar-98, though it took me quite awhile to adjust my play style when using it.
I'm a simple man. Ya'll have fun with your fancy rifles and SMGs.
The Carbine is my favorite gun in the game to this point hands down. For me it comes down to the low recoil, 15 round capacity, and gorgeous accuracy. The carbine has saved my life more than a few times as a medic and engineer. Bullet penetration mechanics might change my personal rankings a little bit, but not by much, even if the carbine doesn't punch through hard cover as well as the Kar 98k or Garand.
If I find myself playing on the German side of things I usually prefer puling out the Gewehr for it's stopping power, range, clean sights, and semi auto action. It feels like a semi auto Kar making it ideal for long and medium range engagements and far less punishing than the Kar if you do miss your first shot.
What do you guys think about the sniper rifles? Personally, I prefer the sights on the Springfield for most medium to long range engagements because the lower magnification makes it easier to acquire targets in close to medium range situations and makes bullet drop a little easier to predict. I prefer the Kar 98k for stealthy play and supporting infantry squads because the sound of your shots "blends in" with your allies. You sound like just another rifleman when you take your shot instead of calling out that a recon team is coming for the OP you've been moving towards.
I find the Kar OK when I am playing as a spotter, more useful than the MP40 unless it's an urban map, but I think you have a lot more control over engagement as a spotter.
I actually like playing with the Kar98k, it feels so rewarding getting multiple follow up kills with that piece of crap ^^ For Allies i find that i have most success with the Garand i somehow don't hit anything with the BAR maybe i have to get more used to it
I agree about the M1 Carbine being a favorite. What a gift the Carbine was when it first came to the SQLs. . . Do you guys remember that? SQLs only had the Thompson. But now the Thompson is much better than it was. The MP40 is incredible, IMO. When I first tried the MP40 after U7, I was blown a way by how much more steady the weapon was. It's more steady the the U7 Thompson, I believe. But I'll always be a rifle man, despite my current love affair with AT rockets. But I don't think the M1 Carbine is good beyond 125 meters. . . I'm knocking guys down, but I'm not getting the same number of kills for targets below that. I mean, targets may be dropping for cover as opposed to being hit, but my point is that I think the knock-down may be close to historical.
I think the M1 Carbine is my favourite. Though, I have been using the Garand a bit more and it's pretty alright. For whatever reason I do a lot better with the Thompson compared to the MP40. The MP40 just doesn't seem to have the same punch, "I swear I hit that guy 3 times, why is he still shooting me...". But I don't know all the variables.
