Don't think I don't love you. By the time I learned I was going blind, it was already too late. I have spent the last decade of my life coping with the coming black, all the while exploring every possible path that might preserve something of the man I was in hopes of giving back to the woman I love, my partner and life-long friend, who has propped me up since. This camp has meant everything to me and occupied my heart and mind every waking hour of the last year and several months. Your names and words and works, your very lives pervade my dreams; so much so that I've hardly slept in all that time. But this was my last great venture. My last chance. I am broke, in debt, and exhausted.
I will make the necessary arrangements.
