Hello again fellow campers!
Another long cold winter here in the north has got me thinking about which games have influenced me the most over the years and changed my perspective on video gaming. I figured why not post something on the forums and get another friendly conversation started!
I have a two games in particular that are at the very very top of my list. I spent thousands of hours in these games and sometimes I find myself going back to these titles for fun and nostalgia.
The first game is Call of Duty 1. Can you believe it has been almost 20 years ago since this title was released? I remember playing the campaign mode over and over again because I could not get enough. How many times can you storm the Reichstag or cross the river at Stalingrad? Hundreds is the correct answer...lol. After I was burned out on that, I switched to the multiplayer gameplay and that's where the real fun started. This led me to buy the next few games from the series over the years. I might of failed a couple of quizzes and tests back in high school after getting very little sleep the night before playing these games.
The other game that rocked my world was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I was never really into RPG games as I was a big FPS gamer but I heard about the game from a co-worker and decided to give it a try. Skyrim was a rabbit hole that I went down and couldn't get enough of. I would find myself reading the lore books for hours because I thought they were so interesting. The massive open world 'do whatever you want' was a new concept to me and it made the game feel so immersive and alive.
Gaming in general has really impacted my life. Some people see it as childish but to me it is a place I can escape reality and meet some really awesome people in the process. It gives me a nice balance in life to keep my mind on solid ground. What games have influenced you the most?
