Hey Camp!
We have a ton of members here and the number one question that always comes to my mind is how in the world did some of you come up with your gamer handle and what is the meaning behind it?
I've had mine for over 15 years now and it all started back in High School when I played baseball. Most of my equipment was the 'Easton' brand and I couldn't think of anything else so it stuck. Hopefully your story is much more interesting than mine and I'm sure the rest of the camp would love to hear it!

So a long time ago, on a infamous Day of Defeat server one of the admins was complaining, ranting really, about how squirrels were messing with his bird feeder. Of course no one on the server could let this opportunity pass so we promptly all became 'squirrels' of some type. I had always had a constantly changing gamer tag so was pretty happy to create a series of squirrel related tags for myself long after the squirrel meme had ended for the rest of the server. The individual I was trolling got a bit salty about how I could not let the joke go, so I became 'No more squirrels' as a peace offering. Because why let a good meme die? Also, I have nothing against squirrels.
At first and still now, my original gamer handle is Bebe. It is named after my favorite childhood snack, "Bebe". My friends ( of course, they're korean, too. ) pronounce it [ be-be ] as my intention properly. But when it goes to the foreign, like CSGO US players who changed their server to Asia for fun, they called me [ bi-bi ]. It sounded pretty weird. Also it's a little bit hard to recognize when they're calling me. So when I first came to camp, I was in agony for my gamer handle. Something special, but comfortable to call. At that time, I remembered the rythm game that my other friends played, "Deemo". And that became my name as it was.
My first gamingtag was Dahonman. i was around 10 years old and just got the folding bike i had been wishing for (i was gonna buy it myself once i grew up). However, since then i have been wearing the RayanR tag. It is a reference to my real name and also jokingly about the irish airplane company. I made my gaming_pic after them and have been variating it from there. It's always fun when people start to laugh about the transport truck driver having the name of an airplane company and we are joking about the works of said company. "Do you want a coke? well that will be €10 please".
I have flown RyanAir a bit, kind of love 'free' flights and stampeding onto the aircraft to try and get a seat!
yeah, flying on a plane where you get a seat number is way less stressfull
My handle comes from my days as one of BF3 and BF4's best "hardcore" mode players. I consistently went 10 to 1 KD, but nailed 50+ to 1 on many occasions. And this was "without" sniping. My favorite kit was medic. Because you can pick up fallen kits, the medic was the perfect base kit. I would toss out a medic bag to keep me on my feet and/or healed up, and I would simply grabbed what I needed from the dead to handle any situation. I was unstoppable. I liked to think that this level of play made me something of a god in-game. I could easily take or defend caps entirely on my own, regardless of what was thrown at me. For my team, that made me a "godsend" -- i.e. an answer to my team's prayers if we were losing. On the flipside, that also made me the "end" of "God," because no amount of prayers could save my enemies -- lol.
So mines a bit petty i guess but here we go :D
in my childhood didn't have my a proper PC and usally just played on what could get my hands own, the Playstation of my brother, his PC, my Dads PC which meant that i didn't really get in touch with internet communties that much either until then.
When i got my first own PC in 2007ish (i was a 12 at that time.. yeah i know you... so young and all) My brother got me Fallout 3 and i really liked that slimy Saloon owners name in Megaton - Moriarty. This became my nick name for the next few years and in the meantime i also became a huge fan of the Sherlock Holmes novel. All good until BBC came up with that god awful "Sherlock" series which i to this hate with a burning passion 😅 which would be fine i guess if not everybody and his mother on the internet would ask me if my name was a reference to this series... so my nickname is either Mori or Moriy
So I've had a variety of names over the years of gaming. When I finally had a chance to build my first gaming rig I didn't want to use any of those old tags. It was a chance to start fresh and maybe use something more unique and incorporates my other great passion mountain biking.
My first downhill mountain bike was a Devinci Wilson. That bike and I went through so much together and taught me so much about the sport, that when it came time to find a new name I knew I wanted it to include Devinci. Yeti is a bike company out here in Colorado and they make my dream bike. I decided why not mash those two names together and bam DevinciYeti was born.
